2025: A year to ALIGN, ABIDE & THRIVE

In the month of January this year the Gregorian (solar) and Lunar calendars align. This alignment only happens every 19 years, however 2025 starts off with perfect alignment. I believe this is saying something about this year ahead: that it is important more than ever to check and pay attention to our alignments. We are spirit, we have a soul and live in a body. Much like our bodies crave alignment, our relationships, emotions, thoughts need to be adjusted to make sure they are in alignment with our goals, values and beliefs. The new year is a perfect time for this RESET. This is both a month and a year to:

ALIGN

Def: To adjust to produce a proper relationship or orientation, to adhere to a prescribed form of action

Assess and adjust our alignments moving into this new year.  Is there anything out of order? This is a time to take stock of your life and start to make any necessary adjustments. Are there relationships we need to let go of? Are there relationships or alignments we are seeking? (These can be both personal and professional). Do your goals and vision for this year align with your current actions? Are there any self-limiting thoughts or behaviors that no longer align with where you want to go or how you see the future, yourself or others?

ABIDE

Def: Pause; to wait; to remain in place.

The weather and the season itself this month invite us to abide, slow down, be still. A time, as above, to take stock of our lives and review our alignments.

Gain vision for the year ahead. This month is a great time to slow down to journal, pray and reflect on the past year and cast a new vision for what we are moving towards in this new year. Does anything need to be changed or adjusted so you can see clearer? Keep your eyes focused on the one or two things that you are feeling called to do this year to avoid distraction and overwhelm in the months ahead.

THRIVE

Def: to grow vigorously, flourish; to be successful or make steady progress; prosper

Life is in the blood, if the blood and/or lymph are stagnant, we are slowly deteriorating. However, this month is a time for new life to flow. Consider a fast to purify the blood so your brain and heart function properly. A 3-day fast can be a great cleansing or reset button for the body. Fasting can take the form of a traditional fast of no food or even giving up sugar, alcohol, sweets, fatty foods or eating out for the first month are also great resets for both the blood and the digestive system. At the end of the month make 1 or 2 attainable and sustainable changes to your nutrition or daily routine.

These are just a few things to focus on and ideas for starting the year off right. The key with any goal is small wins and consistent progress over time. Set goals that feel sustainable and don’t be discouraged if you get off track, you can always begin again! Each month, I’ll be blogging on a few things to focus on throughout the month related to nourishing our body, soul and spirit! Happy New Year!
